Gerald L. Beers, a former longtime resident of Hatboro, died Wednesday December 17, 2008, in the Lutheran Home of Topton, PA. He was 88.

He was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Rickard) Beers with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Weatherly, PA, he was the son of the late John Albert and Effie (Stone) Beers.

He was a veteran in the U.S Marine Corp having served during WWII.

Mr. Beers was a federal bank examiner and long time Vice President of Hatboro Federal Savings Bank retiring in 1985.

He was a member and past Master of Quaker City Lodge 724 and W. K. Bray Lodge 410 Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a member of Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church in Hatboro.

He is survived by his two daughters, Diane and her husband Tom Johnson and Donna Keefer.

He was predeceased by his sisters Martha Taylor who resided in Horsham and Edith Graham of Weatherly.
