This morning about 6:15, in the Town of Herman, Dodge Co., after a lengthy illness, the old pioneer Carl Ringle was summoned to eternity, from this earthly life, at age 73 years. In 1848 with his parents Mr. & Mrs. Bartholomaus Ringle, they came to the Town of Herman, Dodge Co., where at the time as a young man, he opened a general store, which is still in business today. In 1866 he was named as postmaster and retained that position until regular routes of mail delivery were established. From 1880 until 1900 he was the Secretary of the Herman Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Co.; Township treasurer for nine years, Justice of the Peace for four years; two years the Town Clerk and many years the managing Supervisor.
