MRS. EVELYN FAIRBANK
Mrs. Evelyn Fairbank, widow of the late Dr. Alexander W. Fairbank died at her home in Chazy, Jan.20, 1930. While she had been in poor health for the past two years,it was only during the past few weeks that she required special attention.
The funeral was held at the Fairbank homestead Thursday afternoon her pastor, Rev. Lewis Sauerbrei officiating. The body was placed in the vault of the Chazy Riverview cemetery in which cemetery she will be buried in the spring.
M.J.Knapp, M.B. Stewart, Geo.H.Saxe, A.S. Anderson, W.N.Sweet, E.L. Saxe acted as bearers.
Mrs Fairbanks was an active member of Chazy Methodist Church and liberal with her means for its support. About 6 years age she gave $500. for carpeting and pulpit decorations for the Church and her purse strings were always out.
Eva little, daughter of Willard Wetherby Little and Mary Ann (Waite) Little, was born in Chazy June 19. 1877. Mrs.Fairbanks spent her whole lifetime in Chazy and was a great help to her husband and the public when the sick and injured were often brought into the house for temporary care and treatment.
The passing of Mrs. Fairbanks and her noble husband will long be remembered, their good, works follow them.
Surviving arc three children, Bethat L. Folmer of DeLand, Florida,Warren L. Fairbank, Chazy and May E. Stewart, Rouses Point. Charles and Evelyn, children of Dr.and Mrs. C. A. Stewart are grandchildren.
