Blanche E. Gower Wortley, 78. of Lodi, died Saturday at her residence after a short illness. Mrs. Wortley was born in Ione in 1911. She moved from Buena Vista to Lodi at the age of 11. In 1969 she moved to Gualala, and then to Santa Rosa in 1978. She lived in Arnold from 1981 to 1988, when she returned to Lodi. Mrs. Wortley was a member of the White Apron Club, and past member of the Rainbow Girls and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed travel and photography. Mrs. Wortley is survived by her husband, Sydney Wortley of Gualala; two sons, Donald Wortley of Lodi and Richard Wortley of Washington; one daughter, Alice Penko of Missouri; and seven grandchildren. Chapel services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. David Hill of Grace Presbyterian Church officiating. Committal is at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is after 8 a.m. today at Lodi Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Lodi Memorial Hospital or Lodi Hospice.
