The double funeral of Arthur P. Cary and son, Joseph Milton Cary, Jr., was held yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Religious services were conducted at the late residence of deceased, Evergreen and St. Louis Streets, by Rt. Rev. A. C. Garrett, Bishop of Dallas, and the procession started from that place for Oakland Cemetery at 4:30 o'clock.

The number of vehicles in the line was probably as large as at any funeral ever held in Dallas. Six carriages near the front were occupied by the Elks, of which Mr. Cary was a popular member. At the grave the pallbearers for the father were: Ben E. Cabell, J. E. Farnsworth, Kirk Hall, J. S. Armstrong, Dr. V. P. Armstrong, Dr. T. L. Westerfield, J. C. Duke, and W. O. Connor. Those for the son were: E. M. Reardon, Frank P. Holland, J. S. Groce, and Dr. J. G. Fife.

The burial service was read beside the grave by Bishop Garrett.

The two were buried in one grave, which was lined with flowers. The floral offerings were the most magnificicent ever seen here on an occasion of this kind.

President Charles J. Ball of the Dallas Ice Factory,[sic] Light and Power Company came in on a special train from Longview, ahead of the regular train, to attend the funeral.
