Kerney Ferrell
High Point - Kerney Erolia Ferrell, 70, of 3404 Rolling Road died May 8, 2000, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 4, 1929, a son of Willis Edwards Sr. and Mary Lanier Ferrell, who both preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of High Point. He was employed with Slane Hosiery and retired from Clyde Pearson Co. On March 5, 1949, he married the former Colleen Dowdy, who survives of the residence. He also was preceded in death by a brother, W.E. Ferrell Jr.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Linda) Libertore of High Point and Mrs. Bill (Debbie) Lapping of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Chris Libertore and Brad Libertore, Steven Hooper and Stephanie Jacobs; five great-grandchildren, Chris Libertore, Brad Libertore, Steven Hooper and Stephanie Jacobs; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Estelle Parrish of Archdale and Kathleen Robinson of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Stephen L. Welborn. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
