Funeral Services were held for Stanley Smedra, age 89 years, five months, and 25 days, who died Wednesday, May 11, 1983 at Mercy Care Center.
Services were conducted May 14 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Ralph Sherrer officiating. Pallbearers were Terry, Myron, and Stanley Smedra, Lavern Curtis and Tom Sobetski of Omaha and Donald Curtis of Ravenna.
Stanley was born Nov. 16, 1893 to Andrew and Agnes Smedra at Ashton. On Febr. 13, 1917 he was married to Vernie Kwiatkowski. The Smedras farmed in the Ashton are [sic] before moving to Omaha in 1949.
His survivors are two sons, Louie and Andy Smedra; daughters, Mrs. Harry (Mae) Curtis of Omaha, Mrs. Donald (Rita) Meyer of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Anna Sivinski of Cherokee, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parent, two sisters, and six brothers.
