Percy William was the son of Henry and Mary Ann Hinkley. He was born in Swanscombe on 13th February 1883 and
baptised on 8th April 1883 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Stone.

He married Clara Bond and had two sons, Henry, 1913 and Christopher, 1916.

He worked as a crane driver before serving as a Sapper with the Royal Engineers during World War I, 1st Inland Waterways and Docks. His service number was 202563.

Percy died by a shooting accident on Friday
8th February 1918.

He is buried in Tourlaville Communal Cemetery and Extension, Manche, Basse-Normandie Region, France.
