"SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS RESIDENT OF ORRVILLE
William E. Brown, pioneer resident of this city, died at 8:25 o'clock Sunday night at his home, 608 South Main street, where he had been ill only one week. Mr. Brown suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday a week and his condition continued growing worse until death relieved him of his suffering.

He was born at Lima, Sept. 29, 1852, and had reached the age of 78 years, 2 months and 1 day.He was the son of George and Margaret Brown, natives of the state of Pennsylvania, before residing in Lima. Mr. Brown moved with his parents to Orrville when but a boy three years of age, having resided here since, thus making 75 years, 2 months and 1 day in this city, to which he laid claim of being the resident who has lived in Orrville the longest period of time. Of this honor he was proud and often would relate the fact to his friends when they came to visit him.

During these many years as a resident of Orrville he was interested in the civic life of the town. He was engaged in carious occupational activities, and for 52 years was a member of the Orrville band, playing a cornet in this musical organization.

Mr. Brown's first marriage, to Addie Bowers, occurred at Wooster in 1872, and to this union were born two sons and a daughter, the daughter and wife having preceded him in death by many years. He second married Miss Ella Whitwer, Feb. 10, 1891. There are no children from the second marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Brown, two sons, Claude Benj. Brown, Akron, Glenn Maple Brown, Orrville; one brother, Benj. Brown, in the West; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hathaway and Mrs. Alpha Brown, of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be held at the Leickheim Home for Funerals, 323 N. Walnut street, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Arthur J. Hall, pastor of the local Lutheran church. Burial in Crown Hill cemetery, with members of the Orrville band as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the Leickheim Home for Funerals Tuesday evening from 7 yo 9."
