Jewell Elizabeth Wright was the only child of William Henry Wright, and Joanna (Jonnah on some census records) Courtney of Burke, Angelina County, Texas. William Wright's parents were Rev. John Wesley Wright and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Louise Tiller, of Burke, Angelina County, Texas. They were devout Christians and devoted to family above all. Jewell was the light of their lives. Joanna Courtney was the daughter of Vincent Madison Courtney and Mary Waltman of Angelina County, Texas. Incorrect spelling of Cortney on Death Certificate. The correct spelling is Courtney.
William and Joanna adored their daughter! They were very happy when Jewell and a local school teacher, a fine young man of good character named Edward B. Robb Jr. fell in love and were married. By the time Jewell was twenty three years of age and Edward was twenty-four, they became the parents of a baby girl whom they named Famika J. Robb on Aug 3, 1927. They were heart broken when their infant daughter became deathly ill in the East Texas damp winter, and died Jan 6, 1928 from congestion of the lungs. Precious Famika Robb was laid to rest in IOOF Cemetery, Angelina County, Texas, where her Grandfather Edward B. Robb Sr. was buried.
A month later Edward B. Robb Jr. who was grieving and trying to come to terms with the death of their infant daughter, became sick with a gastric ulcer. On Feb 9, 1928, age 25 years, he succumbed to aremic poisoning. Edward B. Robb Jr. laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery, Angelina County, Texas.
Jewell gave birth to their infant son in December in Angelina County, Texas. She named their infant son who died the same day he was born Edward K. Robb.
Eventually Jewell married Carl Donathan and relocated to the Fort Worth, Texas area. She died at age 42 after a courageous effort against cancer.
