At the Casey House Hospice. She had ovarian cancer.

She and her family moved to Columbus, GA, in 1959, where she graduated from Carver High School in 1966. She attended Columbus College, moved to Washington, D.C., and worked at the U.S. Navy, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. She retired in 2003 after 34 years of federal service.

She was a U.S. Army Reservist and retired in September 1996. She was also a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rockville.

Survivors include her mother, Talithia Maxwell of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; brothers, Stephen Maxwell of Alexandria, Virgina, David Maxwell of Washington, D.C., Victor (Monika) Maxwell of Columbus, GA; sister, Gloria (John) Anthony of Ottawa, Ontario, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Maxwell.

Interment followed Mass of Christian Burial offered at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Saturday, December 5, 2009.
