70 Year Old Woman Killed In Accident
In the year's second fatality, Mrs Ollie Josephine Clement, 70, died soon after being hit by a car driven by Lorelo L. Abasolo, 32, of 820 E 11th, at 7 p.m., last night, in front of her home. Mrs Clement, who lived alone at 1104 W 10th, died five minutes after being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Abasolo was not held. According to the report filled by Police Officer Ralph Schnelle, Abasolo's car was going west on 10th. The sunlight at that time was very intense and visibility was poor. The victim was crossing 10th going northwest, diagonally and about midway in the block. There were brakemarks for a distance of 30.6 to the impact, the point of impact. The driver swerved to the left to in an attempt avoid the collision.
