Father: Michael GRISWOLD Mother: Ann ADAMS Spouse: Elizabeth Burnham

Michael Griswold
Son of Michael¹ Griswold.

Michael Griswold, b. Wethersfield, Conn. Mar. 7, 1666, (Michael¹); m. May 12, 1692, Elizabeth Burnham, daughter of William & Elizabeth(Loomis) Burnham, who d. Sep. 9, 1741..

The Burnham's were one of the most respected families in Wethersfield. William was a son of Nathaniel who was a member of a Troop of Horse in Winsor, Conn., and served in King Philip's War..

Michael was a mason by trade; served as collector of taxes and chimney viewer; drew land 1694; appointed ensign of South Trainband 1710. This Michael is without doubt the builder of the present Michael Griswold House in Wethersfield. There has been considerable conjecture in about the year 1730. Michael received this property by will 1684. It is hardly likely the he would have waited until he was sixty four years old to make any improvements desired. The present house, without a doubt, was constructed about the home of Michael I, or an improvement upon the ancient home. We must surely give this house a much earlier date. It was the home of Michael II. The record discloses no other..

Michael died July 24, 1742, age 76. T.S.P. Wethersfield Cemetery.

Their Children recorded in Wethersfield:

David b. Mar. 25, 1693
