The Harold Dispatch Huntington, West Virginia Oct 10, 1950, Boyd Hicks 79 years old, formerly of Huntington who died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs Viney Snodgrass of West Hamlin route 1. Will be buried in Sloan Cemetery following Funeral Services at 2 PM tomorrow at the Welcome Home Baptist Church near West Hamlin. Born December 18, 1870 at Hazard, Perry County, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Calyburn (Clayborn) and Frankie Hicks. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. Survivors include a son Merchant C Hicks of Huntington and five other daughters, Mrs Letta Hedges, Mrs Polly Keller, Mrs Elfair Carrol, Mrs Victoria Browning and Mrs Mable Stapleton of Huntington, a sister Mrs Margaret Tackett of Dony, Kentucky and 30 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a gg-grandchild. The body is at Heck Funeral Home at Milton and will be taken to the home of Mrs ??? At 328 Davis St at 4:30 PM today. Burial will be at the Sloan Cemetery in West Hamlin, Lincoln County West Virginia
