DEATH: MARIE MCCORMICK

Jennie Marie Richards McCormick was born February 25, 1896 in Park City, Utah to William P. and Leah Smithies Richards. They lived there about two years, when they moved to Oakley, Utah, where they lived until 1912, when they moved to Kamas. Jennie passed away November 24, 1992.

She was married to Victor McCormick, April 24, 1916 in Kamas; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She held several positions in the ward before it separated. She was a Relief Society visiting teacher for 48 years. She was a correspondent for the Salt Lake Tribune for five years in 1950's. She was secretary for the Rhodes Valley Camp DUP for 20 years. She received three plaques for her pretty flowers. She was sad when they tore the old church house down, which she had attended for 70 years.She is survived by a sister, Thelma Russell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Karl and Melvin. She was fondly known to many as Aunt Marie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, 1 p.m. in the Kamas 1st Ward Chapel, where friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services.

Interment: Francis Cemetery.

Funeral Directors: Olpin Mortuary, Heber City.
