Shannon - Mrs. Bessie Lee Hunter, 48, 31 Clements Road, Lot 6, died Sunday morning at a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Hunter was born in Floyd County, April 9, 1937, daughter of the late Henry Arville Cole and Cora Lee Baker Cole. She was a life-long resident of Floyd County and a member of Wax Missionary Baptist Church. Prior to ill health, she was employed by Burlington Industries. Mrs Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Hunter, Oct. 5, 1982.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kay Williams, Mrs. Tonya Wright and Carrie Hunter, all of Shannon;three sisters, Mrs. Irene Smith, Mrs. Pauline Mills and Mrs. Barbara Brown, all of Wax;three brothers,Lawson Cole, of Kingston, Charles Cole and James Cole, all of Rome;two grandsons, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Wax Missionary Church with the Revs. Howell Smith and Marshall Williams officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
