Glenda Carter was murdered on Nov. 12, 1966, at Rose-Mar College of Beauty in Mesa AZ along with three other women and a 3-year-old girl: Joyce Sellers (27) and her daughter Debbie Sellers (3), Glenda Carter (18), Mary Olsen (18), and Carol Farmer (19). Another woman and Joyce Sellers' 3 mo. old child survived their wounds.

All of them were shot in the head by Robert Benjamin Smith because he wanted to be famous. He was initially sentenced to death, but his sentence was commuted to life when the U.S. Supreme Court declared a moratorium on the death penalty in 1972. He was still in prison on July 31, 2013.
