The funeral of Mrs. Mary C. Smith, 58, wife of A. Trumbull Smith, 217 Branch avenue, who died Sunday morning In Monmouth Memorial hospital, was held yesterday afternoon at her home. Rev. John A. Hayes, pastor of-the First Presbyterian church, officiated at the services, which were largely attended. Mrs. J. William Helm was soloist..

Interment, under the direction of Mount Memorial home, was in Fair View cemetery. The bearers were Capt. Gordon Biddle, Ralph Pearce, Dr, Frank J. Goff, Harry Kruse, Robert Ayres and George Worthley, Jr..

Born in Little Silver, the daughter of the late James and Sarah T. Ayres she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alvin H. Parker, of Red Bank; a son, Philip T. Smith of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Philip T. Smith, Jr., and Barbara Ann Smith of Shrewsbury. Also two sisters, Mrs. John Moore of Little Silver and Mrs. George Worthley of Shrewsbury; three brothers, George R. Ayres of Little Silver, William D. Ayres of New York and Frank Ayres of Red Bank.
