Burial is in Gans City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. OWENS was born April 19, 1931, in Wink, Texas, to George FITZGERALD and Mertis (NIKER) FITZGERALD. She died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Alva Edison OWENS July 23, 1948, in Odessa, Texas. Survivors include her husband, Alva OWENS of the home; three grandchildren; and one sister, Jo Ann. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Avis Diane OWENS in 1972; one son, Jimmy OWENS in 1992; and one sister, Thelma Jean LANE.
