Indiana Weekkly Messenger, 03 Jan 1894 - Death of Jacob BOSTIC. Hillsdale, Pa., December 29, 1893. After an illness occurred of one year, the death of Jacob BOSTIC occurred at his home in Montgomery township December 24, 1893, aged 63 years, 6 months and 3 days. Deceased was born in Lancaster county June 21, 1830. At the age of 20, he came to Indiana county and purchased the farm on which he died, his father afterwards buying the same farm for himself in 1871. He was married to Charlotte A. NOTLEY in 1859 and died on his thirty-sixth marriage anniversary. He leaves a sorrowing wife and ten children to mourn his death, two sons and eight daughters and 18 grandchildren, all of whom are living. His death caused the first broken link in the family circle. Deceased was a member of the Evangelical Church. He was an affectionate husband, a kind and loving father. His funeral sermon was preached by Rev. F. W. WARE and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. Remains were interred in the Irwin Cemetery, on Tuesday at 2 o'clock p.m. "Dear faher, we miss thee, For since thou art gone, The joy and the sunshine, Are gone from our home. We miss thee at evening, We miss thee at morn, Yet we trust thou art taken From troubles to come. We miss thee as father, We miss thee as friend, We miss thee wherever Our footsteps we bend.
