Eddie Ross Adcock, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Eddie was born on January 20, 1939 in Fairfield, TN.

Eddie was a coach and teacher in the Duval County School System for over 30 years with most of his career spent at Paxon Middle School. He was a deacon at the Wesconnett Church of Christ for over 30 years.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 44 years, Donna; his sons, David and Jeff, Jeff's wife, Laurie and a grandson to be born in December, Evan Ross Adcock; two sisters and one brother, Polly (Ronnie), Gail (Pat), and Jerry (Louise) and numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie was a loving husband and devoted father.

He loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was a quiet servant who did so much for others but was uneasy with any recognition. He had a special gift for serving elderly people. He was a hard worker who always served when asked to help at church or anywhere else. On the day of his heart attack, he had helped a woman from church with her yard. He loved to garden and work outside and always had the best yard in the neighborhood.

Family and friends will gather from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.

Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 27, 2010 at Wesconnett Church of Christ, 5223 Wesconnett Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
