Peter Edward Roy Dickinson, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 25, 2010, due to complications of Huntington's Disease.

Born in London, England, Peter grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Cincinnati Country Day School. He went on to graduate from the University of Virginia School of Commerce, class of 1972. He obtained his CPA and was a solo practitioner for many years, well-known for his expertise as well as his sense of humor. He was active in numerous professional and civic organizations.

Peter was a picture of faith and grace under fire. He valiantly battled Huntington's Disease for over 15 years. Under these most difficult circumstances, Peter maintained a positive, prayerful, and thankful attitude. He managed to focus on the glass half full and not dwell on his many losses. He leaves many to cherish his example and memory.

We are particularly glad that last year Peter stepped out and accepted his son's invitation into adventure. Leaving behind the security of his nursing home, Peter explored thousands of miles throughout India and Nepal, much of it riding a motorcycle behind his son Jonathan. We eagerly await the documentary film's completion which details this journey of faith. For more information, visit fatherspirit.com.

The family wishes to thank the many people who assisted Peter in his journey: in particular, Trinity Presbyterian Church members Bill Cassidy, Carlton Dixon, and Gary Hougan, who provided years of companionship and service. They are also very grateful for the loving care of RoseWood Village over these last two years. Special thanks goes to Sherry Dudley for her faithful and tireless devotion to his well-being.

Peter is loved and remembered by his wife, Sara Bloxom Dickinson and the Bloxom family; his daughter, Jenny Dickinson and her husband; and his son, Jonathan Dickinson. His memory is also cherished by his mother, Jane Dickinson Barrows and husband; his brother, Philemon Dickinson II and family; his sister, Amy Dickinson Beckwith and family; as well as many extended family members. He was predeceased by his sister, "Tudie" Dickinson Morrison and his father, Philemon Dickinson, both from HD.

A private family service was planned for a later date.
