Florence "Flossie" M. Zima, age 92, a resident of Bonduel, and formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Meadow View Assisted Living in Bonduel.
Flossie was born on March 9, 1921 in Manitowoc to the late Adolph and Bessie Lostofka Hamachek. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1939. On April 30, 1945, Flossie married Don V. Zima in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1988. Don and Flossie moved to Algoma in 1951 where they owned and operated Don Zima Jewelry. After raising their four children in Algoma, Don and Flossie moved back to Manitowoc in 1979. She enjoyed spending her time bowling, golfing, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include four children: Kathy "Tussie"" (Doug) Hoppe, Cecil; Marge (Chris) Bouche, Luxemburg; Dennis (Kim) Zima, Green Bay; and Dave "Corky" Zima, DePere; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister: Rosemary Cox, Manitowoc; also other relatives and friends. Flossie was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Don; sister and brother-in-law: Evelyn (Jim) Kolar; and brother and sister-in-law: Adolph (Jean) Hamachek.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer will officiate with burial of Flossie's cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
