Danny J. Wells, 37, of rural Bridgeport, was fatally injured in a single airplane accident at 12:18 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 1987, near the Lawrenceville-Vincennes Airport.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nichols-Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with David Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday (tonight).

Memorials may be made to the Banner Airways Ministries through the funeral home.

Mr. Wells was born in Lawrenceville on Dec. 17, 1949, the son of Paul and Leveta Lane Wells. He married Brenda Houghtalings, who survives.

He was a graduate of Olney Central College and Navy Vietnam War veteran. He was a former employee of Texaco Inc. and flight instructor at Vincennes University. He also flew aircraft as a volunteer for the Banner Airways Ministries.

Other survivors include two sons, Sean of Olney and Brandon, at home; one daughter, Johanna, at home; one brother, Gary of Bridgeport; one sister, Darla Black of Newburg, Ind.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lane of Flora; and several aunts and uncles.
