SPRIGG 03 Aug 1872 Mrs Jane D Sprigg, aged 74 years, a relict of the late Joseph Sprigg Sr, died on Aug 01. She was the last of the family of William McMahon Esq. Within the past year, her brother, John V L McMahon died and ten days ago, her sister, Mrs Sarah McKaig died. Services are at the Presbyterian Church.

Daughter of William McMahon and Sarah Van Lear. She was the sister of John Van Lear McMahon and Sarah McMahon McKaig. All three siblings died within months of each other.

There are some sources who list John Van Lear McMahon as Jane's father which is erronous. He was her brother.

Most of my Sprigg family are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Cumberland, Maryland.
