Thomas W. Tate, Jr., 79, of Walls, MS, formerly of Memphis, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in Southaven. He was an electrical journeyman and was a United States Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Tate, the husband of Freda G. Tate, also leaves a daughter, Beverly (Tom) Pollard of Marysville, OH; a son, Thomas W. (Cathy) Tate, III of Oak Island, NC; sister, Iva Tate of Delaware, OH; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Tate. The family will receive friends this evening, Friday, October 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, N. Germantown Rd. Funeral services and interment will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 2 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.
