Airman First Class US Air Force. He served as an honor guard during the Vietnam war. Born in Dodge City, Kansas, on September 16, 1939, he died in Guadalajara Mexico at the age of 70. He was the real-life brother of Roscoe "Sputnik Monroe" Brumbaugh. He briefly wrestled under the name Jet Monroe. Sputnik and his original wrestling "brother" Rocket (Bill Fletcher) brought Gary on as their manager during a tour of New York in the early 1960s. He dropped out of the business to accept a managerial postion with Walgreen's Drug Store. Later, he worked as a western hat salesman at livestock shows, rodeos and state fairs around the United States retiring to Mexico in 2002. He shares the gravesite with his brother.
