Salina Journal - March 8, 2001:

SCHOENCHEN — James H. Shaver, 53, Schoenchen, died Tuesday March 6, 2001, at Hays Medical Center. Mr. Shaver was born March 14, 1947, at Goodland.

He was an Army veteran, a lineman for Southwestern Bell and a farmer and had worked for the City of Hays Parks Department. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Goodland.

Survivors include his wife, Adele of the home; three sons, Jesse, Joseph and John, all of the home; a daughter, Emily Walker of Raleigh, N.C.; and a sister, Janet Davis of Goodland.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, Hays, the Rev Earl Befort officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Hays.
