FRED FRANZ
Fred Franz, 86, a lifelong Manitowoc County resident, who resided at Shady
Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Monday morning at the home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. Deacon William Klein will officiate with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Franz was born Dec. 16, 1889, at Shoto, son of the late Lawrence and
Caroline Schumacher Franz. He resided at Manitowoc all his life on Spring
Hill Drive. He married Lena Klingholz in 1912 at Manitowoc. She preceded
him in death in 1938. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for the
City of Manitowoc street department.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marie Franz, and a sister-in-law,
Mrs. Rose Franz, of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Mrs. Roger (Joyce)
Mronzinsky, Mrs. James (Judy) Chizek, Mrs. James (Jennifer) Sittman and Miss
Joanne Franz, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Richard (Jacquelynn) Terrien, of Green Bay
and Mrs. John (Johnanna) Van Ells of Ord, Neb., 13 great grandchildren and
a great great granddaughter.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday where a
memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m.
