Anna Letitia Ikard Whatley

DUNCAN — Anna Letitia "Tish" (Ikard) Whatley passed away Sept. 11, 2010, on her 94th birthday.

She lived most of her life in Cyril and Duncan. Tish was well-known in the Duncan Montgomery Ward Catalogue Department for more than 30 years. She was a member and past president of the Business & Professional Women Club (BPW) in Duncan.

Tish was a member of the First Christian Church. She served as altar woman and assistant with the children's youth groups. She could be found making hot dogs long after her children were grown.

Tish was famous for her outstanding cookies, which she delivered to shut-ins along with the most recent sermon from church. She retired in the 1970, but continued diligently working in the church until she left the area.

Tish was preceded in death by her sibilings: Dorothy Ikard Tirk, Bernice Ikard Deeds, Betty Ikard Maguire, Iva Ikard Brown and Asa Ikard; and both her parents, Jim and Helen Ikard.

She is survived by son, Ronald Whatley; daughter, Patricia Darlene Whatley stabile; and numerous nieces, nephews, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Joyce Ikard Kahle, who will officiate at the graveside service.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 8, the Cyril Celestial Cemetery (south of Cyril). In event of rain, the service will be in the First Christian Church of Cyril on Main Street.

A small reception will follow at the restaurant south of Cyril.
