He returned to the United States in January of 1923 and she followed in October of that year. They were married upon her arrival in Knoxville before the late Knox County Judge George M. Trodder.
They came to Oakdale where they stayed about two months with her husband's parents and then moved to Harriman where they lived there after. She had been ill for about three months before her death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. last Saturday at Trenton Street Baptist church, with the Rev. O.C. Rainwater and the Rev. Branson C. Wiggins officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. Pallbearers were: John Kreis, Reuben Cates, E.M. Price, F.M. Price, A.K. Kelly and John Cooley.
