IN LUCK - Our friend, Dr V P Kennedy of Cedar has received the appointment of Assistant Surgeon in the Fifth Regiment of Minnesota Volunteers.
He is worthy and well qualified for the duties of the office.

Dr Kennedy is a graduate of Rush College, one of the best medical institutions in the
United States. He was in the same class with Dr J H Murphy, Surgeon of the Fourth
(Minnesota). Old Rush has sent a good many Surgeons to this war.
