Life began for Astrid in Georgetown, Guyana as the only child of Clive and Barbara Sohan. She and her family immigrated to the United States where she lived in Brooklyn, NY, Hazlet, NJ, and lastly Freehold, NJ. She lived in Freehold with her fiancé, Mark Taylor. Marriage plans were being discussed at the end of August 2001.
At the time of her death, she was employed as an Assistant Vice President by Marsh & McLennan at WTC #1, 95th floor. She was just shy of her 33 birthday.
She is survived by her parents, Barbara and Clive Sohan; her grandparents, Albert & Clarice Hing; four aunts, three uncles and many cousins.
