He was born south of Noble, March 17, 1906, a son of Daniel F. and Mary Alice Gillen Long.
He was united in marriage with Lucille LeFever in Olney on February 23, 1929.
He retired from the Pure Oil Company, where he worked as a gauger for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Hallam Jr., of Olney; three sons, Ben M. of Huntington, Ind., Bob M. of Mt. Vernon, 111., Dan G. of Logan, Ohio, three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Agnes) Michels of Calhoun, Mrs. Glen (Evelyn) Abbott of Washington, Ind., Mrs. Alfred (Loie) Wright of Olney, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Zirkle Funeral Home with Rev. Norvin T. Jones officiating. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. today.
