Born in Butler on Feb. 24, 1922, he was the son of John Calvin and Eliabeth (Love) Birch.
He had been a welder and reired from Pullman Standard in 1982 after 35 years.
Mr. Birch was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 117 and VFW Post 249.
His wife was Dolores M. (Lornez) Birch, died Feb 15 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn and Thomas Birch both of Butler; a daughter Mrs. Gerald (Donna) Bergbigler, of Butler; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Private services and burial will be held at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
