Jake Andrew Petersen ,88, of Willow River passed away on June 24, 1999 at Pine Health Care Center in Sandstone. He was born to Nicholas & Gertrud Petersen on Oct. 31, 1910 in Stickney, SD. He grew up in Minnesota attended rural schools though the sixth grand. He married Birdie Schoumaker on December 12, 1931 in New London. He farmed in various communities in Minnesota and moved to Bloomington in 1941, where he worked at Continental Machines until retiring in 1976. Jake lived in Willow River for 16 years before entering Pine Health Care Center in 1997. He is survived by three sons, Kenneth(Marcy) of Hinckley; Phillip(Sally) of Bloomington, Dennis (MaryJo) of Richfield, two daughters; Marian Furey of Willow River, Janice (Jerry) Matthews of Bloomington, 27 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren a sister, Ann Schelton of Washington state and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters and one grandchild. Arrangements by Hansen's North Pine Funeral Home, Sandstone, MN. Burial in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens, Burnsville, MN.
