Mrs. Carter was a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah.
Surviving are five daughters, Barbara Inell Lyon, Janie Bell Rundle and Betty Lou Ashley, all of Paducah, Sandra Kay Fulks of Eddyville and Carolyn Jean Lewis of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Gary Thomas Carter of Calvert City and Roger Dale Carter of Gilbertsville; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles D. Carter Jr.; two sons, Jerry Franklin Carter and David Wayne Carter; one daughter, Betty Bell Carter; two brothers; and one sister. Her parents were Clint Thomas Bowerman and Gracie Bell Saltzgiver Bowerman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home with the Revs. Howard Atkinson and Jeff Carter officiating. Burial will be at Calvert City Cemetery.
