In Memory of Dr. Elbert Willis
ll Timothy Chapter 4, Verses 4 -8
For I am now ready to be offered,
And the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there is laid up for me
A crown of righteousness,
Which the Lord, the righteous judge
Shall give me at that day:
And not to me only,
But to all them also
That love his appearing...
Rev. Elbert Willis, beloved husband of Mary Willis, Pastor of Christian Center Church, Lafayette, Louisiana, for 37 years passed away November 26, 2008. He was the son of Elbert Willis and Bernice Perkins Willis of Oakdale, Louisiana, who preceded him in death, as did a brother Morris Willis. He was laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, Oakdale, Allen Parish, Louisiana, where his brother is buried. Pastor Willis has five children Lynn (passed away in 2009), Randy, Barry, Lori and Angie.
Rev Willis wrote sixty-six books and traveled to many countries, including Ukraine, ministering and teaching the Word. He was a minister of faith and was an inspiration to the thousands who were in his services through 44 years of ministry.
