CHESTER - Mrs. Emma Stephenson Boulware Cornwell, 85, of 1499 Lowrys Highway, Chester, SC, died Friday, July 22, 2005, in Providence Hospital, Columbia, SC. She was twice married and widowed, first to Mr. James Lawrence Boulware who died in 1982 and later to Mr. Hafner Cornwell (deceased).

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Lowrys Baptist Church with interment in Chester Memorial Gardens. Reverend Denver Parker will officiate.

Born in Chester County, SC, June 17, 1920, to the late Walter Holmes Stephenson and Ruth Brown Stephenson. She was a member of Lowrys Baptist Church and had retired as a sewing department supervisor with Springs Industries Grace Plant, and after retirement she worked with AARP. She attended schools in Chester County and was a member of Springs Senior Citizen Club.

Survivors are 1 son, Gene Boulware of Chester, SC; 1 daughter, Donna Boulware Hovis and husband, Donnie, of Charlotte, NC; 6 grandchildren, Gina Ratcliff, Crystal Greenwood, Bodie Boulware, Jamie Ferrell, Trey Hovis, and Roseanne Mills.; 6 great-grandchildren, Devyn Greenwood, Jarad Ratcliff, Brittany Mills, Cole Ferrell, Kylie Ferrell, and Gage Ferrell; 2 brothers, Avon Stephenson and wife, Donnie, of Columbia, SC, Frank Stephenson and wife, Frances, of Chester, SC; 1 sister, Lillie Steen and husband, Walter, of Chester, SC.

She was preceded in death by 8 brothers, Hennis, Joe, Edgar, Walter Jr., Richard, James, Larry, and Wylie Stephenson.

Memorials may be made to: Lowrys Baptist Church, 3981 Armenia Road, Chester, SC 29706.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
