J. C. Alexander Brewer, 68, 410 Burnett Ferry Rd. died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday in a Rome hospital following an attack suffered earlier on Burnett Ferry Road.

Mr. Brewer was born in Floyd County June 21, 1910, son of the late Randall and Ida Alexander Brewer. He resided his entire life in Floyd County. He was a member and deacon of Little Creek Baptist Church.

Prior to retirement, he was associated with Rome Hosiery Mill for several years. He was a member of Coosa Masonic Lodge 622 F & A.M. and the Low Twelve Club.

He was married Oct. 1, 1932 to the former Mildred Deering, who survives.

Survivors, in addition to his widow include one daughter, Mrs. Von Lambert, Rome Rte. 4; three sons, Harlan, Norman and Steve Brewer, all of Rome; one sister, Mrs. G. W. McAmish, Greenwood, S. C.; three brothers, Austin Brewer, Rossville, Henry Brewer, Rome and Glover Brown, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Little Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Avery G. Ferguson and Carl Pledger officiating. Interment will be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Coosa Masonic Lodge 622 in charge of graveside rites.

Pallbearers are Otis Putman, Robert McKinney, Mason Wagner, Greg Dean, Cliff Young and Gene Alexander.

The body will lie in state at the residence, 410 Burnett Ferry Rd., until the funeral hour.

Talley Brothers Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
