"Paul A Blakeslee, 74, of Spartansburg, RD 3, died unexpectedly Friday evening in Corry Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb 14, 1899 (sic) [Feb 15, 1899], in Sparta Twp, the son of Arthur and Jennie Paden Blakeslee. Mr Blakeslee was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Highways. His first wife, Doris Gilmore Blakeslee, died April 9, 1954. He later married Myrtle Nichols, who survives, with two daughters, Mrs Beverly Kenniston of Corry and Shirley Blakeslee, at home; two sons, William of Corry, RD 1, and Paul G of Spartansburg, RD 3; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs William (Bertha) Smith of Winterhaven, FL, and Mrs Elbert (Lois) Scouten of Spartansburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan, and a brother, Wave. The funeral service will be held at 2pm today at the H Richard Hays Funeral Home, Spartansburg, with Rev Larry Mattox, pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Spartansburg, and Rev Harry J Winkelman, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Spartansburg, officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg."
