Obituary:
Jacksboro, Texas Richard Craton Barrett, 84, of Jacksboro died Thursday, September 24, 1998 in Jacksboro.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with Brother Norman Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Grovehill Cemetery in Dallas on Monday at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
Mr. Barrett was born September 25, 1913 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He and Sadie Mae Riggs were married September 1, 1867, in Durant, Oklahoma. He served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a auto parts salesman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was secretary and treasurer of his Sunday School class.
A son, Charles, died in October 1993.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Janice Gilmore of Simms, Texas, Carol Ann Tatum of College Station, Texas and Gail Chastain of Jacksboro; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
