The obituary for John W. Andrews stated that he had died Jan. 9, 1925 at his home in Shelbyville. He was for many years a resident of the Windsor community and was a member of the Masonic lodge in Windsor for 22 years and a member of the Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was born in Wilmington, DE, Sep. 5, 1852, the son of William and Sarah Andrews. They moved to Rush Co., IN when he was a young child. On May 12, 1873, he married Mary E. Ball and seven years later they came to Shelby county, settling near Windsor. They were the parents of six children, five of whom, with the mother survived. They were Mrs. Walter Grubbs of Rockford, O.; Mrs. Della Weeks, Charlottesville, IN; Mrs. Clark Sexson of Mattoon; Alva Andrews, Mattoon; Wilbur Andrews, Windsor. One child died at the age of eleven years. Also surviving were one sister and four brothers; Mrs. Sarah Stevens of Indianapolis, IN and James Andrews, Guinville, IN; William Andrews, Arlington, IN; Sherman Andrews, Rushville, IN and Dora Andrews, Greenfield, IN plus 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
