Richard G. Abalos Jr., 49, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 20, 1960 in Albuquerque to Richard Sr. and Joan Gomez Abalos. Richard was a mechanic by trade and a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Richard P. Abalos III (Lorrisa) of Albuquerque; daughter, Victoria S. Abalos of Las Cruces; his mother, Joan Gomez Abalos of Phoenix, Arizona; fiancé, Susan Terrazas of Las Cruces; one brother, Ralph Abalos and one sister, Beverly Leyvas both of Phoenix, Arizona. Other survivors include two granddaughters, Jorynn and Vianca Abalos as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Abalos, Sr.

Cremation has taken place and recitation of the rosary will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street, where the funeral mass will follow thereafter. Inurnment of cremains will take place immediately after the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery.
