Marion was born the son of the late James Thomas and Allie Mae Holder Pistole. Marion was a sales manager with IBM for twenty-five years, United States Navy veteran of WWII and member of Central Church of Christ, Marion was married July 21, 1947 to Wilma Greene Pistole who preceded him in death January 10, 2007. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Charlie, Sid, Herbert, Bill and Alex Pistole and sister, Lucille Scott. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and the late Chris Young of Mitchell, GA, Cheri and Dan Kimbrough of Wiesbaden, Germany and Donna and Rick Smith of Murfreesboro, TN; two sons, David Pistole of McMinnville and Roger Pistole of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Blaine and Byron Kimbrough and Ryan Sindt and four great-grandchildren, Grace, Preston, Samuel and Adrian and a host of friends.
