Mrs. C. Abel, Resident Here For Over 70 Years Is Called
Mrs. Caroline Abel, widow of the late August Abel, and a resident
of Manitowoc County for over seventy years passed away early this
morning at the family home, 83? North Ninth street. The deceased
has been in failing health for over a year and was 73 years of age.
Born in Germany, she came to America with her parents as a ? and
the family located in Manitowoc, her maiden name being Caroline
Klug. She was united in marriage to August Abel, 52 years ago and
the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years
ago. Two daughters, Ida and Clara Abel, one son, Oscar, her sisters,
Mrs. Johanna Bartel and Mrs. Bertha Rudolph of this city, Mrs.
Augusta Bartel of Milwaukee and Mrs. Ida Gerrity, Chi? and two
grandchildren survive. Burial will take place on Thursday afternoon
at 1:30 from the home on North Ninth street and ? o'clock from the
Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. Uetzman officiating. Interment will
be at Evergreen Cemetery.
