EDITH MONROE ACHENBACH HOOVER
Mrs. Charles (Edith) Achenbach, 90, of Saginaw, Mich., formerly of Manitowoc,
died Friday, September 19, at Saginaw.
Committal services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Keith Haag will officiate. Mrs. Achenbach, nee Edith Jourdan, was born
April 1, 1890, in Lincoln County, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Sylvester and
Lora Monroe Jourdan. As a child the family moved to Manitowoc, where she lived
most of her life, moving to Saginaw in 1973. She was married to Charles Achenbach
April 25, 1931. He preceded her in death March 30, 1970. She was a former member
of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include a son, Robert J. Hoover of Saginaw, two brothers, Clarence and
Alvin Jourdan and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Dotter of Wisconsin, four grandchildren
and seven great grandchildren.
