Well-Known Woman of Eastern Section of City Succumbs to Long Spell.
After an illness that has extended over a long number of years, Mrs. William L. Austin died yesterday morning at her home on East Fourth street. The funeral services will be held this morning at 11 o'clock and will be in charge of Rev. Dr. W. W. Orr, pastor of the East Avenue A. R. P. Church of which the deceased was for a long number of years a faithful member. Mrs. Austin has been practically an invalid for a decade and during the past few months her condition has been regarded as critical.
The deceased is survived by her husband and five children, Claude, Roy, William and Carl Austin and Mrs. R. L. Brown. Two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Austin and S. H. Garrison also survive. She was a native of this county, having been born in Sharon Township in 1868 and was, therefore, 46 years of age.
The pallbearers at the funeral serivce today will be Messrs. J. J. Jenkins, D. L. Jenkins, J. E. Garrison, Clyde Shaw, R. B. Brown and H. M. McCorkle.
