Helen Jane McCarthy Caudy was born in Nelsonville, Ohio May 10, 1903. She was the youngest child of John C McCarthy and Mary Louise Collins McCarthy. Helen trained as a nurse at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and worked for many years as a public health nurse.
Helen married Daniel Gilbert Caudy October 6, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio. They resided in Tioga, West Virginia, Baltimore, Maryland and then Zanesville, Ohio. The couple had one daughter, Nancy.
Helen was a champion archer and enjoyed her rose garden. In later years she moved to Miami, Florida to be close to family. She died in Miami and was survived by her daughter, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
