Janet,L,Gentry, age 76, of rural Portland,Indiana passed away Wednesday night, October, 6, 2010 at the Jay County Hospital.
Janet was born November, 21,1933 in Connersville, Indiana the daughter of Jacob E. Chowning and Margaret L.(Reinhart)Chowning. She married Raymond Gentry sr. on January 8, 1951. They owned Gentry Wrecking for several years. He preceded her in death on May 17,2004. Also preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jesse L. Chowning and Jerry E. Chowning.

Visitation for Janet Gentry will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 1p - 3p - Portland Chapel , Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be help on Saturday at 3 pm at , Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Pastor Rev. Herb Hummel will officiate and burial will follow at a later date at Locust Grove Cemetery, Cambridge City.
